Laguna Beach, CA - Jeanine Marie Fletcher, 73, of Laguna Beach passed away on December 27, 2025 following a period of ill health. Though those left behind will miss her, we take comfort in knowing her soul has at last found peace.

Jeanine was born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley and graduated from Mark Keppel High School in Alhambra in 1970. Following graduation, she moved to Costa Mesa to attend Orange Coast College. During this time Jeanine forged lifelong friendships she held dear until the time of her death. With her friends she enjoyed an era of adventure and exploration - She traveled throughout the U.S. and Baja, Mexico with her best friend, Peggy, and lived on a farm in Nebraska for several months. She also spent time in Sandpoint, ID which would later become a treasured place for the entire Fletcher family. Upon her return to Costa Mesa, Jeanine joined the Yoga Center which served as the source of her eventual introduction to Charlie, her husband. The two of them together remained involved at the center and with the community for many years.

Jeanine and Charlie were married on June 22, 1979 in an intimate ceremony on Palomar Mountain. Four years later they welcomed the first of their two sons, Aaron, followed by Nicolas three years after. Jeanine was a dedicated wife and mother who strove to keep order in a household of two active boys and an extremely energetic husband, earning her the rightful nickname of "The Commander." As a reserved person, she was considered by many to have achieved living sainthood for tolerating the near-constant boisterousness of her surroundings, thanks to Charlie, Aaron, Nick and their respective entourages. She had an astounding ability to keep up with the three of them in all manner of activities, from hiking, biking and kayaking to snowshoeing and backcountry skiing. Jeanine loved nature and the outdoors and relished her time at the family's second home in Sandpoint. She was a seasoned yoga practitioner, avid beach walker and liked spending time with family and friends. She also had the fortune of traveling to Europe, Central America, Peru and Nepal at various points in her life.

Jeanine is survived by her two sons, Aaron (Lauren) Fletcher and Nick Fletcher and her grandchildren, Margot and Royce Fletcher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fletcher, her mother and father, Marguerite and Beverly "Andy" Anderson, and her brother, Stephen Anderson.

Jeanine will be remembered as the anchor of her family as well as for her adventurous spirit and empathetic nature. A memorial service will be held for her in March in Laguna Beach. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Jeanine's name to the Environmental Nature Center in Newport Beach.
