El Cerrito, California - Sally Marie Davis peacefully passed away in August 2025. She is survived by her daughters Dianna Condon-Hinds (Garrett Hinds), Lisa Straube, and Kat Davis; her grandchildren and step-grandchildren Axel Straube, Karl Straube (Sage), Jack Straube, Emily Condon (Mark Sanchez), Natalie Condon, Kristina Brauer (Katie), Tanner Hinds, and Kyle Hinds; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family including Marie Monet, Geraldine Hess, Nicole Hess Hagen (Ed), Janice Rys (Stan), and Jeff Strickland (Gabby). Sally — affectionately named "Nina" by her grandchildren — also had a great-granddaughter, Stella Davis Straube, and a great-grandson on the way.

Sally was born in March 1939 to Luis and Francisca Galindo in San Diego, Calif. She met her first husband, Gary Davis, while designing department store window displays together. In 1977, she and Gary moved to Laguna Beach with their three children. Sally eventually remarried to Bob Peterson, a longtime Laguna Beach resident, after meeting at a neighborhood party.

An exceptional cook and avid traveler, Sally loved entertaining, collecting art, arranging flowers, gardening, fundraising for the American Paralysis Association, and spending time with her grandchildren at Woods Cove. She was kind and generous, deeply creative, curious, and a connoisseur of good food, wine, and style. For many years, she, Bob, and their close-knit friends traveled the world with the Traveling Kitchens of Laguna Beach cooking club. Sally will be remembered for her fabulous dinner parties, delicious cooking, grace, and warmth.

Sally was a fixture in the Laguna community. Her family and many close friends in Laguna Beach will miss her dearly. Rest in peace, our beloved Nina.
